Position Summary:

The Parts Advisor plays a key role in the daily operations of the collision centre by sourcing, ordering, receiving, and organizing parts required for vehicle repairs. This role supports technicians and estimators by ensuring the right parts are available at the right time, while maintaining clear communication with suppliers and the internal team. The Parts Advisor helps keep vehicles moving efficiently through the repair process while maintaining high standards of accuracy, organization, and customer service..

Responsibilities:

  • Assist technicians, estimators, and management by sourcing and supplying the correct parts for collision repairs
  • Order OEM, aftermarket, recycled, and specialty parts as required for repair jobs
  • Review repair orders and estimates to confirm accurate parts requirements
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parts for accuracy, damage, and completeness
  • Match parts to vehicle files and ensure they are distributed to the correct repair job
  • Return incorrect, damaged, or unused parts and process credits with suppliers
  • Maintain organized parts storage and inventory control within the collision centre
  • Track back-ordered parts and follow up with vendors to minimize repair delays
  • Communicate with suppliers, staff, and technicians regarding pricing, availability, and delivery timelines
  • Ensure all parts invoices, packing slips, and related paperwork are accurate and properly recorded
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient parts department/work area
  • Support the overall repair process by helping keep jobs moving on schedule
  • Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality to support daily workflow and repair timelines


Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and collision repair processes
  • Ability to identify and source parts accurately and efficiently

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in both an office/front counter setting and an active collision repair shop environment
  • Fast-paced workplace with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Regular interaction with technicians, estimators, suppliers, drivers, and management
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the day
  • May be required to lift and move automotive parts and materials of varying weight
  • Exposure to noise, dust, vehicle traffic, and shop equipment in the repair facility
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, odours, and cleaning or automotive products in the shop area
  • Requires attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under time-sensitive deadlines
  • Personal protective equipment may be required in designated shop areas
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedu
